Chicken Bao & Wings with Spicy Sauce

These spicy chicken baos bring an Asian-inspired twist to your game night. Soft and quick to prepare, they’re filled with juicy chicken, crunchy cucumber salad, and fresh cilantro.

  • 6 bao buns
  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) of mayonnaise
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) of sriracha sauce
  • 10 ml (2 tsp) of sesame oil
  • 5 ml (1 tsp) of honey
  • The juice of half a lime (plus more wedges for serving)
  • 3 to 4 Lebanese cucumbers, thinly sliced
  • 10 ml (2 tsp) of Korean chilies (to taste)
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) of rice vinegar
  • 10 ml (2 tsp) of sesame oil
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) of sesame seeds
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Directions

  1. Cook the chicken pieces according to the cooking instructions.
  2. In a bowl, mix the mayonnaise, the sriracha, the sesame oil, the lime juice and the honey until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, toss the cucumber slices with the Korean chilies, sesame seeds, sesame oil, and rice vinegar. Set aside.
  4. Steam the bao buns for a few minutes, until warmed through and soft.
  5. Open the bao buns and fill them with chicken pieces, a little cucumber salad, a spoonful of sauce, and a few fresh cilantro leaves. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and add a squeeze of lime juice to taste.
  6. Serve the bao buns with the chicken wings, the remaining cucumber salad, and the sauce.
