Under our Wings: A worthwhile program
Under our Wings provides all our donation and sponsorship initiatives with structure and vision. The program is much more than simple philanthropy: It is driven by our cooperative’s values and our desire to give back to local communities. Whether by donating poultry products, sponsoring local events or partnering with community organizations, all of our endeavours come together under Under our Wings to build stronger, more united communities.

Exceldor Cooperative has always made it a priority to support communities by donating high-quality poultry products. Building on our 80-year strong history, we have taken a new step forward by bringing together all our initiatives under a single program: Under our Wings. This carefully selected name embodies the very essence of our mission. It conveys comfort and care and speaks volumes of our core values of cooperation, solidarity and social responsibility. For we know, as a cooperative, that together we can build a better future. Through our Under our Wings program, we fulfill our commitment by offering vital support to those who need it the most, while sustaining our cooperative’s mission.
At least 12,000 kg of poultry per month to fight against food insecurity
A partnership that gives hope
In partnership with Banques alimentaires du Québec, we have set up a dedicated protein food donation program, the first of its kind in the province. Every month, we provide the equivalent of 120,000 portions of poultry protein, an essential nutrient that disadvantaged people all too often lack in their kitchens. There is much more in undertaking this initiative for us: it is our very duty. As a cooperative of poultry producers, we know that our products can make a difference. So we have chosen to contribute, because helping our communities is not an option; it is in our DNA.
When farmers, processors and organizations join forces
Since 2020, our farmers in Manitoba, in collaboration with Manitoba Chicken Producers, have been participating in the Caring for Communities program. Together, we provide poultry to the Harvest Program, which redistributes it to families in need. Thanks to the commitment of our cooperative and Sunrise Farms, we process these donations free of charge to maximize their impact.
This program is the perfect example of what cooperation can achieve: turning a simple product into a driver of solidarity.
