To preserve the freshness, colour and flavour of its chickens, Exceldor uses a unique air-chilling method instead of water-chilling. In fact, the Co-operative was the first in North America to implement this Dutch air-chilling process, which enhances the product's quality by eliminating water from the packaging process.
Air-chilled poultry contains 5 to 7% less water than regular products, which prevents excessive weight loss during cooking. This means that Exceldor chicken remains perfectly plump and tender.
Exceldor invests several million dollars per year to expand its facilities, purchase new equipment and implement new technologies in its processing plants.
For the Co-operative, staying on the cutting edge of technology is more than just a financial investment; it is, first and foremost, a commitment to strive for excellence. That is why Exceldor lives up to its name.
